About this program:
Overwhelmed?
Register with the link at the bottom of THIS page if you want to
explore finding a comprehensively trained coach to work with you
weekly.
We can help you anywhere in the WORLD.
ARE YOU . . .
- DESPERATELY SEEKING SOLUTIONS to ADD challenges in any
of their presentations – with comprehensive, factual, and up-to-date
information, simply explained?
- YEARNING for help with ADD frustrations – whether your
own or the challenges associated with living with an ADD spouse
or children – or difficulties understanding, motivating, managing,
or working with an ADD employee?
- UNSURE how to locate a really good ADD Coach?
- with cutting-edge ADD-specific coach training who knows
all the nuances of ADD
as well as their impact on daily life and functioning,
- who understands WHY ADDers don't really find "vanilla"
coaching approaches very helpful, and
- who knows what to do instead!
Helping you find a great ADDCoach
Although the primary focus of The Optimal Functioning Institute
is the development of ADD skills and ADD Coaches, we are happy to
refer website "looking for a coach" requests to OFI Associates,
so that you may interview with qualified coaches individually. (All
referral coaches have agreed to a 30-minute initial interview at
no additional charge.)
However, not only do we need to know something
about your situation to be able to make a good referral, we ALSO:
- want to make sure you understand what ADD Coaching is and
is not – to make sure that your expectations are in line
with what coaching offers
- want to make sure that you are looking for the kind of "whole
person coaching" that OFI Coaches are trained to provide
- want to know that you are "coachable" - that is, developmentally
ready, willing and able to take advantage of the opportunity
to turn your life now into the life you've always wanted.
- need to know how much you can spend for coaching - some of
our Associates work at various sliding scale fees for a portion
of their practices, others do not.
"whole person coaching" – Partnering with clients to facilitate
the process of designing a life of power, beauty and fulfillment:
aligned with client standards and values, meeting client needs, and
maintaining client-appropriate boundaries;
Championing growth and development as clients move from goal to goal
to fashion an experience of living that is an increasingly greater
expression of the client's life purpose.
The Coach Referral Process
Currently, Madelyn Griffith-Haynie, OFI's founder, makes coach
referrals directly, following a one-hour consultation with each
potential client In addition to helping you decide what you are
looking for in a coach (or in your FIRST coach), she:
- explains how to interview coaches to be able to recognize "fit"
(i.e., to find what you are looking for!)
- helps you understand how some of the nuances of your particular
"flavor" of ADD relate to your particular challenges with day-to-day
living, and
- suggests ways to use your particular coaching relationship for
optimal value and growth.
FUTURE supports:
A web-based coach referral engine with a form to collect preliminary
information will help determine some of the above and will eventually
be one of the features of the ADDCoach.com website update in process,
but it cannot be implemented until our new look and class registration
database have been tweaked to perfection!
Even then, some kind of preliminary interview process will probably
be necessary and welcomed by most of you.
ABOUT the ADDCoach.com Coaching FORMAT
With the exception of national conferences [ADDA, CH.A.D.D.,
etc.], all of our trainings, classes, support groups and events
take place in a "virtual" format on a special kind of conference
call known as a TeleClass. Since 1994, participants have attended
by phone from all over the world.
OFI Associates and ADDCoach.com coaches, unlike tutors, consultants
or organizers, are trained to work primarily by phone as well --
for a LOT of good reasons, It is simply more effective overall.
Although, face-to-face coaching is not "against the rules," a coach
referral "in your location" is not really in your best interest.
What you REALLY want is the best coach for
your situation,
NOT the closest coach to your house!
