Skills and Drills™

In response to the ongoing questions I have received about the particulars of coaching with many of the ideas introduced in the A.C.T. Program, I designed Skills and Drills™ to include coaching practice as well as explanation. This mentor group focuses on your coaching skills themselves, and the practice time on each specifically will prove invaluable.

A group situation give you a chance to develop specific coaching skills without having to learn the hard way: with your clients. We won’t be repeating skills unless the entire group wants more practice, or until the group has turned over completely.

You can “jump in” any time: each session builds on the others, but is complete in a single session. There are lots of skills worthy of independent practice.

SOME of the particular areas we will be exploring in detail in are:

    • Introducing ADD when you anticipate resistance
    • Talking with your client about medication
    • Sherlocking & the art of the question
    • Organizational challenges
    • Homework: assignment & accountability
    • The Client Prep form as a tool
    • The Systems Seven
    • S-8 Coaching
    • Shifting expectations of failure to expectations of success,
    • EACH of The Ten Skills used Most Often with ADDers . . . and more

We will also work with some specific techniques and elements of some of the procedures and programs I developed to work with specific challenges:

    • Naming the Game™
    • The BoxStep™
    • Dividing by Ten™
    • Should Technology™
    • 8-step Change Request Procedure
    • Transition Tamer™
    • "Triple D Decisions"
    • 100 Accomplishments
    • Specific pattern interrupts
    • and more.
